Caregiving is one of the most common experiences in adult life, but we don’t often talk about it. Whether you’re a young person caring for a parent or sibling, someone who left a career to care for a loved one, or a caregiver with hard-won advice to share, your experience matters.

We’re collecting stories from caregivers in southeast Michigan and western New York across all stages of life. We’re especially looking to hear from:

  • Young caregivers: teens and young adults caring for a family member while managing school, work or early adulthood
  • People who left the workforce: those who stepped back from a job or career to provide care, and what that decision cost or gave them
  • Caregivers with advice: anyone who’s been through it and has something to share with those just starting out

We may ask how caregiving changed your life practically, emotionally or financially; what you wish you’d known earlier; what resources helped or failed you; and what you want people who’ve never been a caregiver to understand.
